scholarship eligibility
Eligibility for the scholarship is open to United States citizens with Hispanic heritage with a financial need, that are attending law school. We do not require that you be enrolled in school at the time you submit your application for the scholarship.

a scholarship fund for hispanic law students
Slack-Méndez Law Firm has been a generous supporter of Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and has established the Slack-Méndez Family Endowed Scholarship Fund. The Hispanic community is underrepresented in the State of Arizona. This endowed scholarship is intended to assist Hispanic law school students with financial need so that they may concentrate in their studies, complete their law degree, and help others.
Slack-Méndez Law Firm has also generously donated to the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and in gratitude for the gifts, a Third Floor Meeting at the Law library has been named “Slack-Méndez Family” Meeting Room.

The submission consists of (a) the application (below), (b) a statement of not more than 100 words discussing how you intend to use the scholarship to assist in obtaining your career goals, and (c) an essay, which is optional, of not more than 1,000 words discussing how your educational has been impacted by your financial need.
